The Bhagavad Gita, one of the world's widely studied, translated and shared texts, is a timeless teaching, expounding on the unity that exists among all beings and creatures, and provding a path for inner growth, transformation and maturity. It reflects on the fundamental issues of life, birth and death, joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, the inner self and the outside world. It leads us to freedom, to embrace compassion as a basis for human interaction and a deep abiding devotion in the Lord.
Rathi Raja is a Master teacher in the teaching traditions of the sages. She has been teaching the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads for the past 17 years in the Long Island area. She is the president and resident teacher of Arsha Vedanta Center of Long Island.

Bhakti Yoga is the expression of one’s love and devotion for the Divine mystery. The principle practice of bhakti yoga is kirtan, a sacred and ancient practice in which mantras and music are used together to call out lovingly and enthusiastically to the many faces of God. It is often simply called “devotional chanting”. This workshop is a joyful exploration into the art of kirtan. We will delve into the healing power of mantras, the opening of the chakras through sound, chanting as meditation, and the teachings of the saints and scriptures on the nature of Love as a spiritual path. Join David for an inspiring journey of mind opening ideas and heart opening practices.
