GAIL GROSSMAN BIO

When Gail Grossman was 10 years old, her father took her to learn how to meditate. Who knew that this glimpse of peace and self-knowledge would echo so powerfully later in her life! Discovering yoga as an adult was a life altering love affair.

Gail had found her calling. When Gail is touched by something she wants to share it with others, so she decided to become a yoga teacher. Children seemed the natural choice , as she felt she could make the most difference in their lives. Gail has taught yoga to children of Port Washington since 2000. Gail is so thrilled to finally be able to have a large enough studio to have Birthday parties, family workshops, and other yoga workshops. Om Sweet Om Yoga is a dream come true for Gail. She has wanted to create a home for the yoga community for many years. It is her hope to spread the benefits of yoga to as many people as she possibly can.

LISA BONDY BIO

Lisa Bondy has been practicing yoga and meditation for more than 15 years.

She says " Yoga is central in my life. It gives me strength, flexibility, energy and peace: all qualities that I cannot be without as a mother, as a wife, as a friend,as a person. Becoming a yoga teacher was less of a decision than an evolution. Lisa decided to do the Yoga Zone/Be yoga teacher training with Alan Finger as a way of deepening her practice. It soon became clear to her that the transformational experience was too good to keep to herself. It was also clear that becoming a teacher was a way of fulfilling something very profound to Lisa. Something that the Buddhists call Dharma. or life's purpose.

Lisa wholeheartedly believes in the mind/body/spirit connection and the vitality and wisdom that come from that state of being. Bringing Yoga to the community of Port Washington is way of sharing that enlightenment in the hopes of empowering others to see their own light, beauty and inherent power and worth.Since her certification Lisa has studied yoga with several wonderful and well known teachers including Rodney Yee, Judith Lasater, Gabriel Halpern, John Friend, and Baron Baptiste. She has also studied extensively over the last 17 years with some lesser known but equally brilliant teachers including Rachel Gluckstien, Gretchen Carmel, Janice Ventreska, and Joanne and Drew Kane.

Lisa has taught Yoga to men and women in the Port Washington community and outlying area through the Port Washington Holistic Massage Center, the Parent Resource Center, the Methodist Church, The Yoga Zone in Brookville, Two Worlds Gym, and to children through Temple Beth Israel Nursery School, and the Port Washington School District ATLAST Program for the past two years. Lisa is looking forward to bringing her energy, love, and vision of transformation to the Port Washington community through her new home at Om Sweet Om.
