Gail

Gail just can't keep her good fortunes to herself. When she discovered yoga, she immediately knew she had to share it with others. Gail opened Om Sweet Om Yoga in 2004, which has been a dream come true, as she has been able to bring this practice to so many wonderful people, both young and old(er). Her students describe her as very nurturing teacher who can quietly touch every muscle in their physical and emotional body, which leaves them feeling relaxed, grounded and happy. Gail was certified by YogaKids in 2000, and has since become a trainer for YogaKids, teaching other adults how to teach yoga to children. In 2001 she received her certification from BeYoga with Alan Finger. She received her 500 hour certification from YogaBloom with Cora Wen in 2013. She has continued to feed her ever-curious soul by continuing her training with other remarkable teachers, such as Shiva Rea, Brian Kest, Erich Schiffman, Kofi Busia, Leslie Kaminoff and Judith Hanson Lasater. Ultimately, Gail is guided by her inner-teacher, the truest voice she will ever know. Through her yoga, she encourages her students to tap into their own wellspring of truth and peace. In 2014 Gail's first book was published. Restorative Yoga for Life is a book she hopes will help many people that she cannot help in person.
Though Om Sweet Om is her baby, she is being called to spread her wings a little further. You can visit her personal website at http://www.gailgrossmanyoga.com

    A YOGA ALLIANCE REGISTERED PROGRAM

  • YogaKids Foundations Training
  • This Level 1 Training is a stand-alone training event AND the first step of our Full Certification track.

This event, held in areas around the world, introduces attendees to the YogaKids’ one-of-a-kind way of teaching yoga to children. The YogaKids program is more than just poses. It blends traditional yoga and its benefits with theories of multiple learning styles in a comprehensive, imaginative, and playful approach to education. This revolutionary approach, developed by YogaKids founder, yoga-pioneer/ educator/author Marsha Wenig, has been helping children — along with adults — discover the pleasures and benefits of yoga for over 20 years.

Attendees will experience 2 full days of life-changing love and laughter, led by one of our experienced trainers. They will be introduced to all 14 of the YogaKids Elements, the building blocks of this amazing program. These Elements (Math Medley, Laughing Language, Visual Vignettes… to name just a few) incorporate all the different ways children learn. They combine yoga with reading, writing, science, art, music, games, ecology, philosophy and much more — and thus, create a matrix for learning that’s accessible to all children.

Attendees also will be introduced to the 20 categories of YogaKids poses/activities. The YogaKids program has over 185 poses/activities and the Foundations Training teaches 85 of them. (The others can be learned by joining the Certification track.) Some poses are based on traditional yoga asanas, while many are unique to the YogaKids program. In addition, attendees will learn successful strategies for lesson planning and will have the opportunity to team-teach an original YogaKids class to children. Other topics covered during the workshop include the different developmental stages of children, inclusive teaching, and guidelines for teaching a successful YogaKids class.

Foundations Training events are for anyone wanting to give the gift of yoga to children: yogis, parents, teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other child-focused professionals. No yoga experience is required.
